Projections of paintings and temples are creating a colourful space in which the dancer seems to be woven into.
Kaleidoscope is starting with traditional Bharata natyam (choreographed by Guru Padmini Rao and Guru Kittapa Pillai) and is followed by semiclassical fusion pieces choreographed by Carolin Goedeke.
She is performing vivacious stories about hinduistic gods and goddesses and is demonstrating the meanings of the mudras (ritualistic hand movements) to the audience.
The range of the music is reaching from carnatic music, jazz fusion, asian undergound until british independent and Indian filmsongs.

In her use of mime and gestures, Carolin is relating the influences of german expressionistic dance and Indian Bharata natyam-dance to each other.
Different emotional states are transformed into a variety of movement qualities and are developping a Kaleidoscope of human feelings.

The Classical Indian Dance with its sculpturesque poses, geometrical lines, dynamical energies and its rich spiritual impact has influenced Carolin's paintings, drawings and film installations very profoundly.
