HORROR VACUI is an interactive audio-visual dance performance of about 30 minutes length about the ambivalence of emptiness.

“We find ourselves in a projection of our deepest innermost yearnings for emptiness, vastness and fusion accompanied by fear of isolation, loss of identity, loneliness and insignificance. Horror Vacui explores these states torn between stillness, movement, dissolution, fragility.

Horror Vacui is a trialogue between classical Indian dance (Bharata natyam), electronic music and abstract-organic visuals bringing together western club culture, digital technology, eastern culture and improvisation.

By using interactive technology the dancer controls the visuals partly. She interfers with them, hides in them, bends or distorts them thus creating a dynamically swinging space full of associations, wherein impulse, actio and reactio are changing continuously.
